Disabled
& Families -
Education
Primary
Education Acts have been enacted by various State Governments to
provide for free primary education to children. It is the obligation
of the local authority to provide for compulsory free education
to children within its jurisdiction.
The
Secondary Education Acts of different states ensure that children
have access to higher education, including persons with disabilities,
if found fit and eligible to pursue higher education.
Advocacy
is going on for the inclusion of children with disabilities into
regular schools.
The
Government of Tamilnadu has passed an order to ensure that no child
is denied admission on the grounds of disability, in all primary
schools
of
the state.
