Workshops

  • SPASTN in collaboration with Aakash, Sundaram Medical Foundation and Tamil Nadu Orthopedics Association, Chennai organized a National Congress on Cerebral Palsy from October 1 - 3, 2004 at SPASTN, Aakash SMF and at Radha Park Inn, Chennai. 300 participants benefited from this Congress. The following papers were presented by SPASTN at the main conference:
    1. Role of SPASTN – Mrs. Annie Shyam
    2. A parent’s perspective – Mrs. Sivagami
    3. ADL and carry over (parent training) – Mrs. Rose
    4. Early screening and management – Mr. Saravanan
    5. Respiratorty problems and management in non ambulatory child with CP – Ms. Khadija
    6. Multisensory environment – Mrs. Anusuya

  • Skill enhancement programme on Principles of Neurodevelopmental therapy and sensory integration from 7th - 22nd June, 2004 and 1st - 15th Dec, 2004

  • Staff development programmes: 5 day Resource mobilization training course, Colombo, Ms. Jeeva Azhakannan attended a training for three months on CBR (Dec’04 - Feb ’05) organized by National Resource for Inclusion, Mumbai, sponsored by Women’s council, UK

  • Independent living skills – 2nd week of May

  • Parent training programme, 2nd - 15th May

  • How to fund raise by Iian Ewing, Singapore – 5th May

  • Ceramic workshop 5th - 15th May at the Vocational training center

  • Training of parents and siblings organized by National Trust in the last week of April 2005

  • Basic concepts of NDT & SI, 1st - 5th August 2005

  • Fund raising and resource mobilization organized by National Trust 18th - 20th August 2005, organised by SPASTN

  • National level workshop on Sarva Shiksha Abhayan, Chennai (Education for all), 29th June - 1st July

  • National Level SPD’s visit to Thiruvallur District, SSA program

  • Exhibition of materials for block resource center, Residency Towers

  • Refresher Course in Neurophysiology – 15th - 17th December 2005

Upcoming CRE:
