Disabled & Families - Government Schemes

Several schemes and concessions are available for persons with disability.

Some of the concessions are:

Traveling from home to school and back is free, in the Public Road Transport system

Railway concessions are available for persons with disability and for an escort, in cases where independent traveling is not possible

Aids and equipments are given free by the Central Government under the ADIP scheme

Financial assistance is provided for school and higher education, with certain conditions

Income tax concessions are available for persons who have a permanent disability both for medical expenses incurred, and on the computing of assessable income
